THE POWER OF PURPOSE

Join us on April 25th through April 27th.  On October 30, 2008, before celebrating her 40th birthday, Cousin Beverly Dampier passed away. Beverly loved flowers and was showered with them at her funeral. In childhood, Cousin Helen (CEO, Talk Story, Inc) made a pinky promise to love and take care of Cousin Beverly no matter what!” On October 1, 2010, President Obama apologized to the Guatemala President for the U.S. Public Health Services role in the Guatemala Syphilis Inoculation Study, and it triggered repressed memories of Cousin Beverly’s death and Helen began writing her documentary, Generational Trauma, An American Family’s Post-Traumatic Love Story.  On October 1, 2023, Cousin Helen launched the #FamilyLoveMatters” Movement to obtain justice for the Rosenwald Fund Study (RFS) and hosted the 1st Annual Inaugural Gala in Newport News VA from April 26-28, 2024. Virginia participated in the Rosenwald Fund Study.  Talk Story, Incorporated is hosting the 2nd Annual Flower Gurlz Gala weekend in Atlanta, Georgia from April 25-27, 2025, to honor Cousin Beverly on her 56th heavenly birthday (April 27th). Georgia was one of six states involved in the RFS.  The launch of #FamilyLoveMatters is an effort to educate and bring awareness to the Rosenwald Fund Study and help continue the research needed to garner accountability and acknowledgement in six states and more than 10 counties involved in the RFS.
